The Springwoods PTA is more than just an organization; it’s a united community of parents, teachers, and supporters working together for the benefit of our students. Volunteering helps support a variety of school activities and programs while creating a fun, engaging, and positive community!
We believe that when we come together, we can achieve remarkable things.
As our school population grows each year, we continue to improve our campus to surpass the demands of this growth. We provide a strong foundational support for our teachers and staff, by providing them essential resources that make their day to day impactful.
The Springwoods PTA strongly upholds and supports the diversity, equity, and inclusion culture in our school. Our primary purpose is to operationalize PWCS' core values to establish standards of excellence at the division, school, classroom, and student levels. This includes advancing:
Access and opportunity
Resource equity for a positive climate and culture
Emphasis on family and community engagement
Intercultural competence
Inclusion for all

With the large student population, the teacher and staff has grown tremendously. Our admin team consist of one principal and two assistant principals. To keep classroom size at a limit, we have about 6 classes per grade level plus multiple preschool programs the PTA supports.
Due to Springwoods' vast attendance area encompassing the different zip codes in Woodbridge, the PTA strives to create a united school community.
The PTA strives to provide students and families with financial hardships access and opportunity to a successfully elementary education. With the support of the School Liaison Officer we provide free school supplies in the beginning of the school year at our Back to School event. The PTA covers 100% of field trip cost so no student will be deterred in once in a lifetime experience. The School and Community organizes the Weekend Backpack program providing meals during the weekend and holiday breaks.

PWCS educates about 7,500 military-connected students. We are bordered by US Army Garrison Fort Belvoir to our north and Marine Corps Base Quantico to our south. Many of our families live in Prince William County but commute to these and other major installations in the National Capital Region. We hope to make school transition as smooth as possible for military families as they enter and/or exit PWCS.
